I have been writing to my creditors asking for specific details as to the outstanding balance of my accounts. After I get this information, I will contact you without delay with a pro rata offer for paying back my debt; or

I recently applied for __________ benefit and will get back to you after I begin receiving it; or

I have been unemployed (or sick) since __________ and have therefore been unable to work and will contact you again as soon as I return to work.

In the meantime I was hoping you could hold action on my account for a period of two months and suspend interest and other applicable charges to prevent my indebtedness from increasing even further.
